About my tranquil self
I had a hiatus in photographing people on the street. Basically half of the summer and half of the autumn. When I entered the streets again, I realized, that I am less accustomed to photograph people. More shy. More hesitant to take (or make if you want) the photo. That fraction of a second between seeing and shooting. That fraction of time may take little longer now. Or, even not shooting and letting the moment/person pass. It is interesting. It is not same as riding a bike. You don't forget that skill. Comes from the personality. And depends on how my mind is set. An my mind is rather in the summer mode. So, I was on the streets. Shooting. Slower than ever before. Making less photos. Somewhere in between my summer and street mode. Doing photos which my comfortable and tranquil "self" lets me go. Ostrava, 2017 © Pavel P.
Breaking my own label
So I have been posting more industrial photos lately. Not that I switched to this theme for ever. The reason is that I have a one real opportunity to exhibit my photos in UK (Sheffield). Thank you, Terry! And those photos should be about old industry in Ostrava. And I very much want to do that. So I looked in my photo archives and found out that I don't really have much pure industrial photos. Coal mines, factories, etc. My photos are mostly showing the "post-industrial" fate of this region. It was always about abandonment and decay on the background of industry. So, I was first afraid, but when browsing my photo archives, I found photos that would be worth showing in this context. So, that's for the industry theme.
